DETAILED DESCRIPTION

You'll make your first stop at the Castle of St. Germain de Livet, the "jewel of the Pays d'Auge".  Noted ofr its architecute, the castle consists of a half-timbered manor house from the 15th century and a brick and stone wing in a "checkerboard" pattern dating from the Renaissance. 
 
A short drive through the beautiful Norman landscape takes you to the  quaint medieval village of Beauvron en Auge with its charming half-timbered buildings.  From this inland village, you'll stop for a visit at the Christian Drouin distillery, in the village of Coudray Rabut, to sample the famous Calvados apple brandy as well s local cheeses and apple cider.
 
Next you'll move on to the lively seaside resort town of Deauville, which in the summer months is home to the American Film Festival.
 
Then it's on to your final destination: Honfleur.  Here, you'll have time to wander the streets of the old port town and admire the picturesque old harbor with its slate covered houses, made famous by such artists as Claude Monet and Gustave Courbet.
 
Return to port.
